Even as a child, Han van ’t Land had a great passion for music and theatre. In 2008 he completed his education at the “Sweelinck Conservatory” in Amsterdam, making him a legitimized music teacher.
After his studies he played in various bands and worked as a freelancer at the “Amsterdam Music School” and “Het Fort van de Verbeelding” (Fortress of the Imagination).
He gained a lot of experience as a music teacher, workshop leader, composer and performer.
He also developed numerous community, social and educational music projects at home and abroad.
For the foundation “Sounds of Change” he now trains teachers in conflict areas, so that they can use music as a means to work with refugee children.
In 2017 he started the music project “HAN” (Her And Now), with colleagues Joost and Jeroen as guest musicians.
Han’s music brings a spark of consciousness, connection and joy.
oost van der Graaf has been active in music since he was fourteen. As a bass player he played in many different bands. From Soul to Death-Metal, from P-funk to Ska. In the 90’s he was a singer as well as a bass player a successful underground band and in the corporate events circuit he worked with big names from Dutch Music.
Tours with bands through Europe, but also in Russia and Japan, together with many hours of study and studio time, have resulted in a lot of musical baggage.
In addition to all activities as a performing musician, Joost has also devoted himself to teaching.
For many years he taught bass guitar at “Het Muziekcollectief” in Leiderdorp and at the MBO education “Metal Factory” he was a band coach as well as a bass teacher.
At “Art in Rhythm” he learned then principles of musical business training and at “Het Fort van de Verbeelding” he developed into an experienced workshop leader in primary, special and secondary education.
Jeroen Hensel was hitting pans with spoons at age 1,5… Since then he has always been playing music until it became his profession. He did a life-coach training where he learned how to connect people with music workshops.
During his studies, Jeroen started working as a music teacher at “Het Fort van de Verbeelding” and at “Aslan Music Centre” in Amsterdam.
In addition to his work as a music teacher, Jeroen is mainly a virtuoso percussionist in Brazilian Samba. He has built up a large network in Rio de Janeiro. He played there with big names and even appeared on national television in 2018 as Samba playing “gringo”!
In the near future, he will make a musical commitment to the well-being of the many neglected children in the slums of Rio.
